Zia Happy to Announce the Finest Coaching Staff in Arizona…
And we’re not just saying that…..!
Zia Volleyball has been hard at work securing coaches for the 2006-07 season, and with the credentials Zia’s new coaches have adding to the credentialed coaches that has stayed with us, any club in Arizona would be hard pressed to field a finer staff.

Jami Rolfes (formerly Coughlin) will coach our 18’s team. Jami comes to us after a 4 year stint as assistant coach at Arizona State University. That followed a honored career as a Sun Devil winning both academic and athletic awards from both ASU and the PAC-10. She has spent the past 6 seasons coaching with Arizona Juniors. |
| Jami is joined by , Giovanna Melo the current Assistant Coach at Arizona State and a former Sun Devil herself. Gee assisted our 18-Garra team last year that featured 8 scholarshipped athletes. Her background is also extensive as she came to ASU from Western Nebraska University. Gee learned the game in the club system of her native Brazil. | ![]() |

Karen Sitkiewicz will coach our 17’s team as she finishes her first season as the head volleyball coach at Phoenix College following a seven year stint at Cactus Shadows High School. Her team won their region for the past five years and were state champions in 2003 and 2005. and received the AVCA’s Team Academic Award 3 times. Coach Sitkiewicz has been awarded numerous Coach of the Year awards by the Desert Sky and Wells Fargo Regions, East Valley Tribune, and the Arizona Coaches Association. Coach Sitkiewicz is a CAP 1 level certified coach through USA Volleyball. She has been the club director for the Black Mountain Juniors Volleyball Club for the past three years and is a Junior Board Member for the Arizona Region of USA Volleyball. Coach Sitkiewicz is originally from Ohio, where she attended Hiram College graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Communications. While at Hiram, she played volleyball and softball. She is currently pursuing her Masters degree in Sport Psychology. |
| Nicole Morton is finishing her Senior year at ASU as one of the starting outside hitters and will lead our 16-1’s team into battle this season. Nicole brings a wealth of experience not only as a PAC-10 standout, but also from a coaching perspective as she leaves Arizona Juniors where she’s coached the past three seasons | ![]() |
Kristen Marin (pronounced marine) joins the Zia staff after a successful season last year with the Phoenix North Valley 14-1’s squad. She is a former Cactus Cobra, who still holds numerous records in both volleyball and track there. Kristen is the current JV coach at Cactus and was a two year standout at Phoenix College before going to Lee University in Tennessee where she finished out her honored and distinguished playing career.
