Zia Rage continued their winning streak going 3 and 0 in the third region tournament of the season. They started off the morning strong beating Mountain Crush 16-1 with scores of 25-17 and 25-21. Next up were the Central Phoenix Starlings 18's, who Zia dominated 25-11 and 25-10. In the third and final match of the day, Zia faced a strong Ares 18's team. The girls played one of their best games of the season in the first game winning 25-12. After a slow start in game two, Rage fought back from a 21-11 deficit to come back and win the game 26-24 and take first place in the pool. Overall record: 18-5
Zia Rage moved up 10 spots in the AZ Region Championship rankings after going 2 and 1 in the first tournament of the season. After losing the first match in three games to Club Red 18 Black (18-25, 25-22, 10-15), the Rage came back strong to win the next two matches. They defeated AZP 17 (25-19, 25-12), and finished the day with a win against Aspire 18 Silver (25-23, 25-11). With a 5th place finish in the Division 4 bracket, Rage captured the 24th place seed.
Fiesta Classic Update: Zia RAGE finished 5 and 1 in pool play at the Fiesta Classic qualifiying them for the Gold Bracket on Monday. W (25-17, 25-12) AZ East Valley 15-1 L (13-25, 25-12, 13-15) APAC 15-1 W (25-12, 25-10) Tempe Y Club VOS 16 W (25-17, 25-16) AZP 16 Black W (25-17, 25-20) SEVC 16 Travel W (14-25, 25-14, 15-9) Arrowhead 14 RAGE fell in their first match on Monday against T-street 16-2 out of California. After losing to Aspire 16 Black in the loser's bracket, RAGE finished 7th overall out of 66 teams. A great start to the season ladies! Overall record: 7-4
