Boy's #3

Boys Tourny #3 found the ZIA 16s anxious to get going as bragging rights were on the line. ZIA's 16 battled ZIA's 18s in the first game of pool play.  An exciting way to start the day but a disappointing end as the 18s proved to have just a bit more firepower winning 25-17, 25-17.  The 16s rebounded well after a break though, winning their next two matches to take 2nd in the pool and a chance to move up a division.  ZIA took on AZP in the first game.  The match was very close but ZIA fell just short...falling mostly to their own errors.  Still, the boys had a chance to finish third and move up to Division 3 if they could get past a pesky AZ Fear 14s team.  Zia did prevail in two hard fought games to complete the day 3-2 overall (third place) and now look forward to seeing what D3 AZ Boys volleyball looks like. Congrats guys and keep up the hard work!!

Boy's #2

The Zia Boys 16s team has already learned that times can be tough and times can be rewarding all in the same tournament.  Last weekend's boys regional #2 was proof of that.  Playing shorthanded for the second straight tournament, the boys pulled together after a rough start to finish 5th again with their second consecutive 3-2 tournament match record.  The boys can see areas of strength and weakness in themselves AND the competition and look forward to hitting the courts to better their performance on Halloween in Tucson! Keep working hard boys!
