Tourn #4 by Justin BakerThe first game of our tournament we played alright. I think we should have beaten them. The score was very close and we just give up when things aren't going our way.
During the rest of the tournament we played down to the other teams level. Our team has a lot of potential but we just stoop down to the other teams level. A lot of the members on our team get down on themselves if things aren't going the way they want it to. If they shank a ball or two they get mad and start to play worse. If there is a bad call they let it get in there head and start blaming everything on the ref or another player.

Tourn #4 by Rhett Edwards This tournament unlike other tournaments we got warmed up faster than we ever have and we played better. One thing that I thought made a big difference in our second game was we didn't get stuck in rotation or get our heads down. I also started setting our middles more than I have any other tournament. Our last game against Fear was probably one of the hardest beacuse a lot of us where tired and it was hard to get going again after sitting a game.

Tourn #4 by Imre Broce Our most recent tournament was both the most exciting, and the most disappointing showing of the year. The day started out with a heartbreaker, a match that we could have and should have won, but fell just short in both games. However, our play was probably our best showing for any opening match, and our confidence was raised greatly. The second match of the day was by far our best play of the year. A team that we were very well matched up with in Molten presented a huge mental challenge, and after losing the first game we were able to really pull things together and come out with a huge win. This game was the showcase of just how well we play when we are put to the test. Unfortunatley, the rest of the tournament didn't go so well. Despite finishing our final three games 2-1, making a grand total of 3-2, the team finished in 6th place, which means we will go down a division again. Our play was marginal at best for the second half of the day, and we will face the consequences for it.

Tourn #4 by Allen Venable  i think I personally did pretty well in the morning besides or game against our 16's and Fear.  agains our 16's i was tired and pretty sore thats why i wasnt giving my best and i knew we could beat them so i wasnt giving it my best effort so i didnt get more hurt then not play like i did against Fear. i need to keep my positive energy going no matter who we are playing so i can keep my motivation going and the positive vibs. as an individual i need to speak louder help teamates out with communication.
As a team we played outstanding until our last two matches of the day. we slacked were not communicating and once we played a lower team or not as good as the other teams we play we drop down to there level and played with them rather than getting it done with and show we are a consistant team no matter who we are or who we play.  We made mental mistakes again with our hitting and passing.  i think we need to practice working in our rotations we struggled in in practice and run exactly what the teams dead on the other side of the net that our defence couldn't pick up.

I thought, compared to our first tournament, our energy was a lot better starting off and it didn’t take as long for us to get going. Still, we could have done a lot better with talking and keeping our energy high and probably would have won more games if we would have played that way throughout. The second and third matches I thought we did a good job at not letting up on the third game and pulling the win out. Our losses pretty much were due to those moments when we were inconsistent or quiet as a team. We also need to make sure our serves count when we need them. Overall I was content with the teams performance but we still have areas we need to work on.

Tourn #4 by Matt Zukaitis This past tournament we played in a division higher than the last. I found that we, as a team, played better against teams who were more of a challenge. Because of the higher skill level of the teams that we played, we were given a chance to work on our correct defense. I was fairly happy with how we played in the pool play but was very disappointed when I found out that we were moved down for bracket play. And even more disappointed to end up not even getting fifth.

Tourn #4 by Jon Clarke Last tournament I believe went well. We started out way better than expected playing against AZP. We got really close in both games but lost them. We were always on their tail. The rest of the games were against easy teams. We played at their level, not our own which is way higher. The final game against Fear we should have won. To bad we got called doubles on us all the time. I'm not saying that it was all his fault. We would get squirrely every once in a while. But Fear only won because of handicapped points. I believe my only good game was the first. For some reason I did not play as well in the others though I wish I had.

Tourn #4 by Andrew Warren This tourament was a disappointment! We played decent in the morning but we can still play better. We should of beat Molten and Avp in 2 games not three. Then against Fear we played horrible-no one talked or was loud. We need more positive energy and dont get stuck in rotations. Our hitting was very good this tournament our passing on the other hand was a different story, we passed horrible. We missed alot of serves (me alot).

At our last tournament we took first. Coach Jenny did a good job at bringing up our self esteem. She really has a good way to cheer up the team. Our chemistry is getting better and we are starting to play better. We did not lose one match.

Well overall we played awesome the first half of the day, even though we lost all three games we played very well controlled volleyball but in the end still beat ourselves. The second half of the day we just broke down didn't played smart good volleyball at all it was horrific.

The last tournament that we played was in a lower division so we were playing younger teams for the most part. Playing younger teams has its upsides and it downs. The upside to it is that we get the chance to focus a lot more on our own play and team work, and of course the moral boost of having more wins. The down side is that we were probably not challenged as much as we should be which is important for our progress as a team. When it came to playing time I thought our team did fairly well considering we did win 1st place, but then again we weren’t playing teams our age. Our team stayed focused for the most part and had little conflict with each other throughout the tournament. I feel that I did pretty well and for the most part gave it my all every chance I got.

Tourn #3 by Jon Clark  our first game was against the Zia 16's team. we were pumped up, ready to play our lower leveled team knowing we would win easily. as we were warming up we felt awake and ready to go. first match started, we started out hot and awake. by the end of the game, we realized we were in for more than we thought. we were definitely asleep. barely moving anywhere, not calling anything, every once in a wile a serve would go over. it was a sad match and there were many more to come. we had to get hyped up. we came back to the second match half awake but definitely playing better. it could have been way better but it wasnt. for the rest of the day we started getting more and more alive, calling more, and moving more. even if where we moved wasnt right, over all it wasnt too bad of a day, we won some games, lost some games. all-in-all good

Tourn #1 by Rhett Edwards In our first tournament we sort of started off slow which seems to happen at all of our tournaments so far. But in our first tournament I think that the main reason we didn't play great was because it was our first time playing together. I was having trouble setting our hitters and we didn't really communicate. As the tournament went on we got better though, we still weren't great but we weren't letting balls drop with no one going for them.

Tourn #1 by Allen Venable My first thoughts about the tournament is about the first tournament. It was my very first tournament playing volleyball. I think we were all nervous and playing for ourselves including me. We had no communication and team help. I thought we didn't play smart enough and weren't mentally ready. When we made errors we didn't forget about or tell each other "it's alright get the next one." We just let the bad plays get to us mentally and we continued the errors.
Tourn # 1 by Ross Brown At our first tournament in Tucson I was happy with our teams overall performance. It took a while to figure out the pace and what we needed to do as a team, but after that we won our games and finished in a decent spot. We could have done better but for the first tournament, I was still content. We just need to start out playing as a team and keep the energy up sooner and i think we can do better.

Interviews by Matt Zukaitis:  In my interview with Andrew I learned that he has three siblings. And I learned that Justin has a bad temper with himself and he also has a bad memory. Oh and he has a passion for volleyball like me.

Interview by Rhett Edwards At our second tournament one of the people I interviewed was Andrew Warren. Andrew was born on September 8, 1993, he has 3 siblings the oldest is in college in Michigan then there is him and his two little sisters who are in 4th and 9th grade. Andrew is a sophmore at Deer Valley high school and has been playing volleyball for about 2 years now. He is left handed also.

Interview by Justin Baker: When I interviewed Rhett i figured out he had a huge family. When i interviewed Andy i found out he was adopted. Rhett wants to be a firefighter and he also like to play sand ball. He is short and thinks Taylor Swift is super sexy.

Interview by Allen Venable: I chose Justin Baker to write about from my interviews. Justin becomes very stressed about himself when he makes errors or thinks he is not playing smart. He lets mistakes take over his mental game sometimes. He is a sophomore at Deer Valley High School and he is 16 years old. In his spare time he likes to wrestle.

Interview by Ross Brown: I interviewed Andrew. He was gotten a haircut since the season began. He likes Asian rock/techno music and he likes oriental chicken salad from McDonalds.
