5. Show up at the tournament, check in, pay the entry fee and play

You should know...

  • To qualify for the Regional tournament, you must play in 3 of the 10 scheduled tournaments. (Even if you live in Phoenix, you can play in the Tucson or Flagstaff tournaments and vice versa)

  • If you are in the top 8 of your age division in points and have played in three tournaments, you will be invited to play in Regionals. If you cannot play, your bid will go to the next highest point earner.
(Points will be posted on the Arizona Region website weekly)
  • Medals will be awarded to the top two finishers in each age
    Division represented at each tournament

  • Regionals winners and runners-up will receive an automatic bid to the USAV Youth Beach Nationals held in Hermosa Beach July 23-25th. If a team cannot go, the bid will go to the next highest placed team.

  • If only one or two teams represent an age division, those teams may be asked to play up an age division to ensure more matches. The teams moving up will still be awarded medals for their appropriate age group.

  • This program is for doubles teams only. If you switch partners within the season, you will be awarded points for both teams. There are no individual points awarded. Also, there are no substituting players. Pick your partners wisely…

  • Players will officiate their own matches. Officiating clinics will be conducted at the beginning of each tournament. If there is a dispute, it will be settled by the tournament director

  • Even if you are a member of USA Volleyball, you still need to pay the $30 registration fee, which covers our insurance through AVP, our court costs, tournament costs and region costs.

  • All players will be held to the USA Volleyball Code of Conduct rules and ethics. Violations of those rules will result in the appropriate sanctions
  • Points are awarded using the AVP point system which is dictated by the number of teams in a division at one tournament
