Zia Expands Excellence to Surprise and Queen Creek
Zia has reached out to the far ends of the valley and begun programs
in both Surprise and Queen Creek for the 2008 season.
Tonya Rooth will lead the Surprise contingency and Kim Weeks
is heading up the Queen Creek squad. Both coaches have been with
Zia for years and both played for Zia.
Zia Athlete’s Continue
to Dominate Post Season Awards,
in Both HS AND Collegiately
With the announcement of the 2007 Arizona Republic All-State
team selection, the 2007 High School season has officially come
to a close.
We here at Zia cannot express how proud we are of our athlete's
amazing accomplishments over this past season.
Congratulations to Ironwood High School for winning the 5A-II
State Championship with 5 of our athletes contributing, and topping

The Cactus Cobras got to the 4A-I State semi finals with 7 Zia
players on the varsity roll call. Add to the tremendous records
of the Zia laden freshman and JV teams from Centennial, Ironwood,

Zia’s Growth
Shows Significance
Zia was one of only a few clubs that showed growth this season
as more clubs than ever have popped up across Arizona.
Being the only club in the west valley
to offer a Boy’s
program, Zia stayed with two teams. But the expansion into Surprise
and Queen Creek gave the club three more teams than last season.
Some clubs saw significant decline in teams this past season.
Many factors, including club fees, rising costs and an influx of
new clubs led to this decline.
Thank You all for your support.
January
Birthdays- Congratulations!
Courtney Ek, Kelsey Tourvell, Ryan Sapcoe, Annalyn Sanders, Samantha
Baudhuin, Julie Duarte, Jeremy Burris, Samantha Vargas, Calista
Polvodore, Derek Wibben, Kimberlee Pollack, Kaitlin, Halverstadt
and Nicole Lentine.
