Reaves Enjoying Success at Highest Levels
For those of you living under a rock this volleyball season,
you are missing an amazing first month by Zia’s own Sarah
Reaves as she starts her collegiate volleyball career with the
Sun Devils of Arizona State University in the toughest conference
in collegiate sports, the PAC-10.
On September 27th, in a four set loss to 19th
ranked Oregon, Sarah collected 28 kills which set an Arizona State
record for most kills ever by a freshman in one match, and a record
for most kills in a rally scored match.
Over the Labor Day weekend, Sarah was named MVP
of the Hilton Phoenix/East Mesa Challenge tournament leading the
Devils in kills for the three matches. Over the 14-16th of September,
Sarah again led the Devils with 51 kills in three matches and was
AGAIN named the Tournament MVP in the Crown Plaza Sun Devil Challenge.
Having played and started in every match thus far this season,
Reaves is leading the Devils in kills and kill percentage as a
true freshman!
Congratulations Sarah although, to be honest,
we aren’t
all that surprised….!
Come out and watch Sarah and the rest of
the Sun Devil Volleyball squad this season. For more information,

You Can Make a Difference & Help
to Find a Cure!!
Zia Parent Darline Castellaneta is participating in Walk Now for Autism to
help find a cure for autism.
She writes, “Autism is the second most
common developmental disorder in the United States affecting one
in every 150 children born today. Despite some promising discoveries,
the cause of autism is unknown and a cure does not exist. Research
is crucial. Every 20 minutes another child is diagnosed with autism.
Not only must we find ways to improve the quality of life for children
and adults with autism, but we also must find a cure, and soon.
Walk Now for Autism is our chance to make a difference in the fight against autism
by raising money for autism research and heightening public awareness. Please
join me in my fight as I raise $5,000 to help fund essential research. I will
be walking on November 4, 2007 and would like you to support those affected by
autism. You can donate to WALK NOW and join my team online through my webpage
at www.walknowforautism.org. Donations can also be mailed to Cure Autism Now
/ Autism Speaks using the donation form located on my page or send me a check
made out to Cure Autism Now / Autism Speaks. My team name is Team Jack and Brianna;
please note this on your check and the donation form.
Please join me in my fight against autism. Thank you for making a difference
in the lives of the more than 1 million Americans living with autism today.”
Sincerely,
Darline Castellaneta
